Rev. Jay Stuart Glover:
Welcome to Faith Talk. I’m Rev. Jay Stuart Glover, and I’m grateful you’ve joined me today.
This year, in a intensified way, we’ve witnessed sin in action—on full display, both locally and globally. It seems to be the driving force behind many of the dominant narratives shaping our world. We see world leaders consumed by an ungodly lust for power, corruption, and violence. The disregard for the sacredness of human life—of men, women, and children—is a clear violation of God’s will for His creation: the universe, the earth, and all people.
Humanity’s sins are no longer hidden behind closed doors—they are plainly visible. And it’s everyday people—ordinary citizens—who bear the brunt of these injustices. We see senseless violence in the streets, tragic loss of life, the crushing weight of poverty, and the increasing threat of environmental disasters. These realities leave many feeling hopeless, powerless, disappointed, and frustrated.
Across the globe, people’s faith is being tested. Many are discouraged by constant threats of world conflict and by the ongoing exposure to both domestic and international unrest.
But in the midst of all this, I want to offer you a word of encouragement from Psalm 9:7–10, which reads:
7 The Lord reigns forever;
He has established His throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know Your name trust in You,
for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.
This brief but powerful passage reminds us that God reigns forever. He is sovereign. He doesn’t have a term limit. He hasn’t been given a set number of years to be God—His rule is eternal.
