I’m Rev. Jay Stuart Glover, and welcome to Faith Talk.I've been speaking with many people who are, not surprisingly, very much troubled by all that is going on in the world today. In an era marked by shifting policies, cultural divides, economic hardship and rising global tensions, many of us feel adrift, experiencing heightened anxiety, fear and overwhelming uncertainty. The constant exposure to this chaos has brought many people to a place of weariness. Today I would encourage the weary to pray with the 23rd Psalm.

The 23rd Psalm is one of the most well known scriptures in the Bible. The 23rd Psalm remains profoundly relevant, offering solace and guidance through its comforting imagery of God as a caring shepherd. David’s depiction of God resonates deeply, especially today when societal structures seem unstable. This psalm encourages us to recognize God’s constant presence, offering protection and guidance, much like a shepherd tending to his flock.
What I love most about this psalm is how David’s perception of God shines through, even in the face of adversity. David’s image of God is one of a loving Shepherd—a caretaker who provides, protects, and leads.
